Pool Safety and Certification
A pool safety certification by a licensed pool safety inspector is an essential requirement to ensure that swimming pools meet safety standards set by the state government, including the installation of compliant pool fencing and maintenance of safety barriers to prevent unauthorised access.

- Initial Inspection: includes checking barriers, gates, and pool fixtures.
- Barrier Requirements: (fences) meet height and gap requirements.
- Gate Requirements: self-closing and self-latching.
- Access Points: any direct access to the pool meets safety standards.
- Pool Safety Signage: installed as appropriate.
- Maintenance Checks: equipment functions correctly and in good repair.
- Pool Safety Certificate: issued on compliance, valid for 1 year for new pools and up to 2 years for existing pools.
Non-compliance
